Use rehearsal to resolve a specific uncertainty
Sugargoo's official pre-shipment guidance describes a packing simulation that helps establish parcel weight and dimensions before shipment. Verify the current service price and what the result includes in your account; an old blog service fee is not a current quotation.
The most useful question is concrete: “What happens to chargeable weight if these two shoe boxes are removed?” or “Can these ready items fit into one parcel while retaining the bag's shape?” A request to “make everything cheaper” leaves the warehouse to guess which trade-offs you accept.

Evaluate shoe boxes as part of the order
A shoe box can take up space, but removing it does not automatically produce a lower payable charge. The route's billing rule, rounded weight and remaining outer packaging determine the difference.
Before approving removal, decide whether you need the original box for storage, gifting or product records. Ask how the shoes will be protected in the new packing. Do not assume that dropping the box permits eliminating all protection around the item.
Compare two complete options: retained packaging and your chosen alternative. Record the resulting dimensions, chargeable weight, service fees and freight. The saving is the difference between those totals, not the box's weight alone.
What package remarks should say
The official ordering guide shows package remarks at parcel checkout. Treat this space as a concise instruction to be confirmed, while selecting any required paid services through the appropriate controls.
An illustrative remark is: “Keep the rigid bag supported so it holds its shape. Remove only the two shoe boxes for item references A and B, keep the shoes protected, and retain all product accessories. Please ask before making another packing change.” Replace the example references with your own order references.
Avoid conflicting requests such as keeping every original box while also requiring the smallest possible parcel. Identify what matters most. Do not use remarks to misdescribe goods or alter truthful declaration information.

Approve the result, not just the request
Check the completed packing details and any available parcel images. If a requested service is absent or unclear, resolve that before dispatch. Keep the accepted instructions with the final measurements and bill.
For soft clothing, a volume-reducing service may be worth considering; for structured bags, hats or delicate items, preserving shape may matter more. Make that decision item by item.
